2023 wrapped up - q4 update

“Season’s greetings” from me…

and an update on what’s been happening at Wicked Creative HQ during the last few months.

Raising money for Crisis at Christmas

If you’ve been following me on LinkedIn, you may have seen that this year, I’ve decided to raise money for the Crisis at Christmas campaign. Crisis are an amazing charity. A place with them this Christmas really is the first step towards leaving homelessness behind forever.

We’ve supported Crisis as a family for many years now, and this year, for every project booked between the end of October and Christmas, even if it’s for work into 2024, I’ve sponsored a place – at the time of writing this, I’m up to six. You don’t need to commission me for work to get involved either. You can donate directly on their website.

Most successful global awareness campaign to date!

For the last 15 months, I’ve been the communications and partner engagement manager at the International Generic and Biosimilar medicines Association (IGBA). Part of my role has been managing their annual public health awareness campaign, Global Biosimilars Week, as part of a global task force. This online campaign seeks to raise awareness of the powerful impact of biosimilar medicines. This year, the theme was the role of biosimilars in cancer care, which is obviously a topic close to my heart.

I’m very pleased to report that this year has been the most successful year of the campaign to date, with participation from more than 90 countries across every continent of the globe. We also had involvement from leading names in healthcare such as Samsung Bioepis, Sandoz and Pfizer, to cancer organisations such as Digestive Cancers Europe and the Lymphoma Coalition, to trade associations like GMBA and regulators such as HPRA.

My contractor role with IGBA is currently on hold due to changes in the structure of the organisation, but I will be looking to take on more projects doing campaign and events development and management in 2024!

A big THANK YOU!

Referrals and repeat clients continue to account for around 85% of my incoming enquiries and I’d like to thank you if you’ve come back to me or recommended me to others. There really is no greater compliment.

Trip to CopyConX

I was thrilled to go along to my first every CopyCon event – CopyConX. Held annually, this “nerd-word-fest” is a fantastic opportunity to listen to great speakers, learn new things, meet other copywriters in the industry and let your hair down.

I’m not a natural presenter, but like many other copywriters, I’ve applied to speak at the 2024 CopyCon event… so, watch this space!

One healthy boob!

If you’ve followed any of my breast cancer journey on LinkedIn, you may have seen that I’ve recently had my first annual check-up following my successful treatment. I’m pleased to report that my mammogram came back as normal, so I don’t need to be seen for another year! Talk about a great early Christmas present!

Availability for Q1 2024

I’m currently booking new projects into Q1 with availability from Thursday 4th January 2024. If you need support with your content strategy, copywriting or social media, please don’t hesitate to get in touch using the button at the bottom of this page!

Have a wonderful Christmas break and a healthy, happy 2024!

Dee
