Editorial feature for boots uk: male menopause

I'm best known for my B2B work in healthcare, tech and cyber, but recently I've also been flexing my editorial chops. In the past I’ve written for Reader’s Digest, but earlier this year I was contact by a commissioning editor for Boots UK’s magazine, “Health & Beauty”. Jo gave me the opportunity to write a feature on the male menopause, which followed singer Robbie Williams stating that he was living the “manopause” - what he dubbed as the male equivalent. As a healthcare writer with more than 9 years of experience specialising in men’s and women’ health, I jumped at the opportunity.

Despite this being a feature about male health, I had to be extremely mindful that the magazine’s audience is predominantly women, and this feature saw me highlight the obvious differences between female menopause and what Robbie views as the male version. I’m delighted to have had the opportunity, thrilled that none of my original words have been changed, and that the design and accompanying graphics to this piece are just perfect.

You can read (and teeny, tiny byline) is in the spring/summer 2024 edition of their Health & Beauty magazine, which is free in store to advantage card holders, and just £1 to anyone who isn't. Their online digital magazine currently isn’t working, but I’ve included images of the feature below.
